Waste Water Sanitation

Group picture!

Hi! We are the Waste Water Management group that learned about wastewater. There are 13 students and two learning facilitators in our group. In Cambodia, there are many issues with wastewater management and people have little knowledge about wastewater treatment. People keep discharging dirty water into rivers, lakes, oceans etc without treatment. We have decided to study about two technologies of wastewater treatment, one is constructed Wetland and the other one is Composting Toilet. The outcome of our exploration is to reconstruct the constructed Wetland at our school and to design low-cost Composting Toilet. We learned about constructed Wetland and Self- Composting Toilet by interviewed experts from different NGOs and visit the Ministry of Environment, invite guest speakers from a different background to share with us about waste water. We also use technology to research information in the class too. We tried to go on field trips to visit places that working on this system. So this exploration have create change in my school by construct new wetland for Liger and it’s working pretty well, which is better than the last wetland Liger has.

Water Safety

My topic is about medic. In the medic topic, I choose to learn about aquatic protection because mostly I had seen a lot of people around me get drown when they go somewhere especially in rural area. First, I need to have some research about treating the different type of drowning. Then I hope that I can meet anyone or experts at aquatic protection (can be day trip). At last, when I go somewhere else, I wish I can help people with my independent discovery skill that I learn in Liger. To share my knowledge with other people, I will make some brochure and share them.

Animal Field Guide

Description: In Animals field guide we learned about each species of animals in Cambodia. Also each student need to choose their own species to research about it. Our big goal is to make the animals book for the whole people in Cambodia to study by painting with Val. Val is one guide who volunteer to come and help us publish a real book. She from Australia. Beside that we went on two trips because we wanted to experience to see forest and the animals that live in the forest directly.We went to Siem Reap provinces and Takeo because we want to learn more new things from expert and have fun with them. When we came back we compared each similar species that we have to get the different. In Siem Reap to go meet a lot of expert about our species that learn more about it. We learned about how all animals connect to each other (Biodiversity). We learned how to give food to animals in captivity. We also get a chance to ask them some question about the animals that we have. Also we will continue our exploration in literacy time because we need to complete making our book. Beside that we will continue our exploration in next term and we will have other project than making the book. Our plan is to share our knowledge that we have to other student around Cambodia.

  • Hi! We are from the Animal Guide exploration. We traveled around to different forests in Cambodia in order to understand the biodiversity in our forests and our goal is to authorize a book about wildlife in Cambodia.
